About this talk

This course reviews the critical aspects of nutrition and chiropractic care, including case study related to the gut-brain axis, digestion, food, and clinical effects of proper digestion or lack thereof. It includes discussion of philosophy, research, physiology of digestion, macronutrients, and cascade of effects from the 6 phases of nutrition and homeostasis. Understanding the key aspects of neurology, physiology, and nutrition in the case of pediatric patients and those with Autism Spectrum Disorders not only provides better patient-centered care but allows for greater reach for the chiropractic profession. It also allows for more congruent communication and understanding of nutrition and neurology in the care of children and adults with ASD as a unique population within our practices. Learning objectives: Explore research and physiology of the Gut-Brain axis, the role of nutrition in neurologic health, and the effects of digestion of macronutrients and enzymatic support in maintaining homeostasis.
