Chronic gastrointestinal problems are common in children with ASD. Standards for diagnosis and treatment are uneven at best and, in some cases, completely absent. The end result is a lack of satisfactory choices for many patients who are seeking impactful clinical care. This talk will explore our attempts to address the fundamental knowledge gaps that contribute to an overall inability to provide timely and effective diagnosis and treatment of chronic gastrointestinal disorders in this large and uniquely vulnerable pediatric population.
